How to get to Zagreb

Coming by car
Zagreb is only 390 km away from Vienna, 380 km from Budapest http://www.epos.efort.org/zagreb2010/foto-HowToGetToZagreb2.jpgor 420 km from Venice. From all border crossings (with Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina) on the new modern highways, just follow Zagreb sign.

Coming by train
Direct connections with all European capital cities will take you on our main Railway station, built in 1892, and situated in the city centre.


Coming by plane
Zagreb Airport has direct nonstop connections with Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Bruxelles, Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Warzawa, Rome, Zurich, Moscow, Istanbul, Podgorica, Sarajevo and Lisbon.

Transportation to/from the airport
The cheapest option to get to the city is by public transportation. There is an airport shuttle bus, operated by "Pleso prijevoz". Please note that public transportation fares are only payable in Croatian Kuna (HRK). A one-way ticket costs 30 HRK and may be bought from the driver. (The approximate  5,00 Euro)
The bus has two terminals, one located at the Airport, and the other located at the Main Bus Station in Zagreb. The bus terminal at the Airport is located just outside the airport building. Buses run at half-hour intervals for most of the day. See http://www.plesoprijevoz.hr/schedulezg.htm.
The bus (Pleso Prijevoz) will drive you from airport to main bus station, from bus station to hotel in 10min.
Once at the Main Bus Station, you can either walk or take a tram to your hotel. The Westin  Zagreb Hotel is located within walking distance (15 min walk) from the station.
A more comfortable and more expensive option to get to the city from the airport is to take a taxi. The taxi terminal at the Airport is located just outside the airport,the average taxi cost from airport to hotel is cca. 200,00Kn (cca. 28,00EUR). To book a taxi call 970, but there are always taxi in front on the airport.

Travel documents / customs
European Union citizens, as well as citizens of Schengen states, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino and Switzerland may enter Croatia with a valid identity card; others require a valid passport.   
Visas are not required for visitors from the countries with which Croatia has mutually abolished visas. Visitors from countries which have not signed such conventions must obtain a visa from Croatian diplomatic and consular offices abroad.
Customs formalities are reduced to a minimum for visitors entering and leaving Croatia. Upon reaching Croatia foreigners may take their personal luggage into the country customs-free with only an oral declaration to the customs officials. Personal luggage also includes 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco, 1 litre of alcohol and 1/4 litre of cologne water. Customs tax is paid on articles which are not personal luggage and are of a commercial nature. No duty is paid on souvenirs or other objects bought in Croatia unless their quantity indicates that they are intended for sale.
